ImplantsystemsA multitude of implant systems are available on the world market. We will use systems by Astratech, Nobel Biocare, SIC Invent, SPI Thommen Medical and Straumann ITI. For the routine use, it almost does not matter which modern system is used. However, in certain cases, the small differences between the systems can be used to our advantage to achieve a successful result. These are based on the long-term experience of a network of specialists.Astratech systemThe Astratech Implant System is based on biological and biomedical principles. It stands out with its unique conical seal design, its innovative micro threads and the extremely bone-friendly Ossoespeed surface.With the conical seal design the connection between the implant body and the abutments is conical. This reduces the sheer forces on the implant neck. The advantage of this is, that we do not get the usual bone resorption to the second threat as with other implant systems. This system also allows a standard platform switching (small abutment with larger implant). The micro threads increase the surface area of the implant, which results in greater bony anchorage in the area of the implant needle. The fluoride modified, rough surface structure is called Osseospeed. |
